Via the database information system, the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History provides access to selected online databases of relevance to issues in contemporary history and current politics. The page opens with the field of history. There is also an overview of academic fields to the side as well as an alphabetical list. Many useful databases can be found under “General / Interdisciplinary” (“Allgemein / Fächerübergreifend”).
The selection includes databases freely accessible via the internet that can be accessed from anywhere, as well as databases made available through national DFG licenses, alliance licenses, or licenses purchased from the IfZ. Databases which are available through any of these licenses can be used on location at the IfZ only.
Databases on CD-ROM and DVD can also be searched for in the online catalog to be ordered for use exclusively in Reading Room 1.
